Job description
Land Use, Zoning, and Real Estate office is seeking a Paralegal with strong Land Use, Real Estate, and Transactional experience to join our team for a full-time position.
The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running and have experience in the following areas:
Land Use and Zoning:
- Prepare zoning applications and public notices.
- Communicating with various local building and zoning departments, and state agencies.
- Gathering plans and hearing materials from Engineers and Architects. Scheduling of meetings, preparation of meeting materials to meet hearing deadlines.
Real Estate:
- Organizing and coordinating real estate closings, preparing closing checklists and timelines, preparing and coordinating loan documentation, clearing title , resolving title defects.
- Reviewing contracts and preparing amendments to same, order/review title searches, order/review surveys.
- Reviewing mortgage commitments and gathering the documents necessary to satisfy lender requirements.
- Deed preparation and recordings.
Transactional
- Experience drafting contracts.
- Forming LLC’s and Operating agreements and resolutions
- Preparing hearing/trial binders and exhibits.
- Drafting engagement letters and other correspondences.
- Manage attorney’s daily calendar of appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Oversee and communicate internal and client due dates to meet important deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years Land Use and/or Real Estate experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
- Detail Oriented
- Highly organized, resourceful and reliable
