***THIS IS A THIRD SHIFT POSITION THAT REQUIRES 90-120 DAYS OF TRAINING ON FIRST SHIFT***

OVERHAUL/REPAIR MECHANIC- 3RD SHIFT

Primary Purpose

Maintenance Team Member that is responsible for the overhaul, installation, assembly, repair and upgrades of plant production equipment. Tasks may include, but not limited to, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults. Tasks are completed through work orders [breakdown and preventative maintenance] assigned by the MP2 maintenance management system (CMMS) planner so that the applicable documentation is available electronically.

Essential Functions

1. Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work orders and maintain records in MP2 maintenance management (CMMS) system.

2. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in a variety of manufacturing equipment.

3. General knowledge of process controls and sensors is helpful – pneumatic valves, proximity switches and sensors, floats – mechanical and electronic, air pumps, pneumatic solenoids, etc.

4. General mill and lathe experience – ability to machine “running fits” for rotating components.

5. Ability to learn the plant operation and processes – Build foundational excellence

6. Through written and verbal communication, the ability to convey appropriate information concerning equipment operation and minor maintenance requirements to manufacturing personnel on a timely basis.

7. Verify specifications on equipment and complete standardized documentation for installation, maintenance, and operations qualifications – as applicable.

8. Maintain work area, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure serviceability, cleanliness, and safety. A foundation in and experience with 5S is an asset.

9. Must be capable of performing assigned duties with minimal supervision.

10. Completion of all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

· Five years of recent and verifiable experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset to this position.

· Knowledge in welding- fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine tool operation, and mechanical disciplines

· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and their corresponding processes.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

· Ability to read machine and part schematics to facilitate correct removal, disassembly, rebuild and reinstallation.

· Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

· Must be able to obtain forklift license – Company provided training and testing.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

· Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to loud noise. Work may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosive, fumes or airborne particles.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, walk, sit, reach, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms.

· Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the manufacturing plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.

· Must be able to exhibit clear vision at 20 inches or less; and exhibit clear vision at 20 feet or more. Due to manufacturing standards, candidate must not exhibit signs of “color-blindness” to include but not limited to Anomalous trichromacy, Monochromacy, Tetrachromacy and cannot be red/green deficient.

· Must be able to exhibit solid peripheral vision; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point.

· Must be able to exhibit solid depth perception; three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.

· Routinely required to lift objects up to 25 pounds; and occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during course of a workday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $30.50 per hour
