Job description
We're looking for a road warrior to join our Ghost Nationwide Logistics LLC team as an OTR Sprinter van driver! As the perfect candidate, you have a knack for navigating any terrain, a keen sense of direction (GPS is for amateurs!), and the strength of ten men to lift heavy boxes with ease.
As an OTR Sprinter van driver for Ghost Nationwide Logistics LLC, you'll earn 40 cents per loaded mile, plus bonuses for exceptional performance. On average, you will drive 2500 loaded miles per week. This is a 1099 position and pay is bi-weekly. Most drivers make $1800-$2000 bi-weekly! But be warned: this job isn't for the faint of heart. You must be willing to be on the road for up to two weeks straight without returning home, and sleep in the van during your downtime.
To qualify for this position, you must pass a background check, drug test, and have no more than two moving violations on your driving record within the last two years.
As an OTR Sprinter van driver Ghost Nationwide Logistics LLC, while on the road you may be requested to got to an oil change facility during downtime. You are not required to perform the oil change, but you will need to ensure that the van receives the necessary maintenance and repairs to keep it running smoothly. Additionally, you must remain patient as new loads are booked, as the timing and availability of shipments will vary daily. While some loads will require the freight to be removed from the van by the driver, the majority of loads are palletized dock-to-dock and no-touch. You'll also be responsible for returning the van to our headquarters in Chicago upon completion of your two-week cycle. Drivers are scheduled be actively dispatched for two weeks and return for up to 4 days of home time before being dispatched for another 2 weeks.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, with no more than two moving violations within the last two years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy boxes and cargo with ease.
- Availability to be on the road for up to two weeks straight without returning home, and willingness to sleep in the van during downtime.
- Excellent navigation and sense of direction, with the ability to navigate any terrain without relying solely on GPS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers on the road.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records of all deliveries and pickups, including signatures, dates, times, and any issues that may arise.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to remain patient as new loads are booked and the timing and availability of shipments can vary.
- Experience with driving cargo vans or other similar vehicles preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers on the road, providing updates on delivery status and any changes in schedule.
- Ensure that the van receives regular maintenance and repairs, including driving the van to an oil change facility during downtime.
