POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager, JHI reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for managing the daily operations and leading the call center of the Patient Services department with Johns Hopkins International. This position acts as the functional unit liaison to resolve complaints associated with the unit specific operation and staff, leads improvement of operational processes, compliance of performance management and change management, and promotes staff development, high performance and engagement. This role is responsible for tracking and reporting operational metrics on a regular basis, leading the achievement of business objectives and collaborating with JHM departmental management, scheduling groups, providers and business clients.

COMPETENCIES:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.


Minimum of six years related experience in an operations, call center, or customer service environment required.

Minimum of three years of prior supervisory experience required.

Health care experience preferred

  • Requires analytical ability to resolve personnel problems.
  • High level of decision-making authority.
  • Makes appropriate decisions, using available resources, to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors and staff based on policies and sound business practices.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements in departmental systems and processes and contributes ideas and suggestions for solutions.
  • Responds to urgent and unplanned situations by assessing level of importance, instituting appropriate action and informing appropriate management.
