Renaissance Global Logistics, a James Group Company, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead, direct, and oversee the daily production activities of the plant to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes in our premier Pontiac facility as part of our rapid business expansion. Key responsibilities include ensuring that all company objectives/standards in the areas of quality, delivery and customer relations are consistently met and maintained while maximizing efficiency, safety, productivity, and profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations
  • Recommend and lead the implementation of process and system improvements to deliver enhanced business results
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards
  • Maintains adherence to company safety standards, lean manufacturing, and visual factory principles
  • Ensure adequate resources (talent, materials, equipment, training, etc.) are provided to meet company objectives and performance
  • Works closely with all warehouse staff including Material Control Manager, and Quality Control team
  • Documents performance deficiencies and reviews them with immediate supervisor and or other appropriate personnel to facilitate corrective measures
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to determine progress and status to meet production standards and revise as necessary in accordance with current conditions to meet overall objectives
  • Ensure operational and employee performance standards are maintained to maximize organizational excellence and support performance management process at all levels
  • Develop and maintain strong and credible customer relations with key clients and suppliers
  • Assures that production machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained
  • Establish and foster a work environment consistent with company core values and beliefs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Working knowledge of 5S, Lean Methodologies and Visual Factory
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff providing “hands on” skills when needed to meet objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three years’ experience managing business units, or related activity in a leadership role in a large distribution or automotive warehousing facility
  • ISO 9002/QS 9000 knowledge preferred
  • Warehouse and/or automotive manufacturing experience necessary
  • Lean Manufacturing and Visual Factory implementation preferred
  • Extensive experience in managing large distribution facilities
  • Direct customer/client contact and communication experience, required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
