Job Summary: This position plans, organizes, directs, and manages all aspects of manufacturing at the production level.
Required Education/Experience:
- Four-year college degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent is required.
- 10+ years of supervisory or related experience in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in metal manufacturing facility.
- Tier I automotive experience preferred.
- Requires the knowledge of plant operations in extrusion and/or fabrication. Preferably in aluminum products
- Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required. SAP knowledge is highly desired.
- Experience managing operations in an ISO/TS environment is required.
- Knowledge of varied manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, finances, and purchasing is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, procedures, and/or operational changes established by upper management.
- Assist supervisors in identifying, planning for, and filling personnel needs.
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Assists with reviewing production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division. Assists with analysis of budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget. Recommends budgets to management.
- Coordinates activities of plant departments to effect operational efficiency and economy.
- Provide direction and guidance to production supervisors and the maintenance supervisor.
- Support and positively communicate company policy and procedure.
- Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
- Assist supervisors and managers when taking disciplinary action regarding hourly/salary employees. Document all meetings held with employees. Document any disciplinary action taken.
- Coordinate with engineering on future projects to ensure ability to produce the product, as well as profitability.
- Coordinate with the quality team on reactive and proactive issues concerning quality.
