Job description

1. Contribute to supporting the mission of STEEMCC by ensuring that quality patient care is pro vided in each patient contact and during each clinical encounter.

2. Provides primary care to all patients as appropriate to the physician's medical specialty.

3. Develops a plan of care for each patient, including: complete medical and dental history, refer to medical physician for examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, including hospitalization where necessary.

4. Stresses and teaches the importance of preventive medical health care measures.

5. Uses all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, such as laboratory and radiological testing, in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.

6. Confers with consulting physicians, nurse, patients, and patient's families concerning treatment and care of patients.

7. Refers those medical cases that require specialist services, but maintains responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.

8. Participates in the development and implementation of a regularly up-dated performance improvement plan for the medical center.

9. Participates in the Health Promotion/Prevention activities such as health fairs.

10. Attends all internal medical staff meetings and participates in the medical center's Q/I program.

11. Provides primary care management of patients with HIV, AIDS, and other immune system de pressing diseases

12. Participates in strategic and operational planning sessions to establish dental goals of the medical center

13. Perform other duties as may be assigned

Job Type: Full-time
