JOB SUMMARY:
Orders and downloads all electronic media evidence from various law enforcement agencies. Provides copies of digital evidence to defense attorneys in all pending criminal cases in Mesa County. Properly logs evidence received. Responds to electronic media evidence-related questions or problems.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Upon receipt of new case and approved law enforcement reports, promptly orders and/or downloads (1) any 911 call(s) if applicable; (2) all electronic media evidence currently booked into Property section at appropriate law enforcement agency; (3) uploads received electronic evidence into case management software program for distribution to defense attorneys and; (4) processes and requests copies of paper/document evidence booked into property and once received, scans into case and routes to assigned Deputy District Attorney for review. Ensures proper logging of all electronic and paper evidence received and distributed to defense. Orders all Body Worn Camera footage and provides viewing link to defense. Electronic evidence may include CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and other multimedia forms.
Maintains communication with various Property and Evidence sections of law enforcement agencies to ensure accurate processing of all evidence.
Assists internal staff and defense attorneys with electronic evidence related questions. Performs follow up tasks on cases previously processed.
May review staff procedures used for electronic evidence; troubleshoot problems; make revisions.
Oral and written communications must be clear and effective.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of: Modern office technology and equipment including computers and related software applications, principles and procedures of customer service, records management, English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation, general mathematics, business writing and report preparation, and spreadsheet applications.
Demonstrate professionalism, composure, and appropriate interpersonal skills during performance of tasks, duties and responsibilities that take place in this adversarial system. This adversarial system includes contentious dealings (in person, by phone, electronically, or by written correspondence) with opposing counsel, upset individuals that may be defendants, victims, witnesses, law enforcement, or other members of the public, often resulting in mental and physical stresses.
Demonstrate professionalism, composure, and appropriate interpersonal skills in reviewing and/or discussing information pertaining to criminal cases. These criminal cases require frequent exposure to assaults and murders, including, but not limited to, physical assaults, verbal abuse, sexual assaults (upon adults and children), and child abuse. The discovery in the cases will also require frequent exposure to gruesome, disturbing, and/or sexually explicit photographs, images and recordings.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Two year college or technical school degree in computer science, business, or a related field with two (2) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Ability to: Perform multiple tasks while responding to interruptions; accurately perform data entry; learn and utilize various software applications; learn and apply department policies, procedures, laws and regulations; respond to requests and inquiries from the general public and internal staff; understand and carry out oral and written directions; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
