Modeler - Clay / Digital

Job Summary:

Our client in Troy MI or other unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. is looking for a Modeler - Clay / Digital. This is a long-term position.

What You Will Do:

• Modeler - Clay / Digital (Troy, MI, or other unanticipated locations throughout U.S.). Responsibilities include: Perform a full range of clay/digital automotive modeling functions including 3-D scale and full-size clay forms production, design engineering feasibility management, design specification conformance management as well as broad project management. Employ creative visualization and exterior clay modeling skills to produce finished models that meet design and engineering specifications while maintaining concept/styling intent. Incorporate engineering criteria into finished clay models, as well as creating finished 3-D models using hands-on sculpting and Alias/Sub D/Catia Studio tools. Set up and use studio Mill machines by importing data and creating cutter paths. Conduct product, styling and consumer research, develop and present original designs/concepts, create sketches, renderings and computer graphic illustrations, negotiate styling changes, evaluate/revise original designs as well as broad project management. Telecommuting permitted. B.S. in Transportation Design or closely related. 36 mos. experience in the job offered or as a Senior Clay Sculptor & Alias Modeler or in any similar position. 36 months experience in: Digital Modeling, Clay Modeling, Autodesk Alias, NC milling and Transportation design. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Education/Experience Required:

• B.S. in Transportation Design or closely related. 36 mos. experience in the job offered or as a Senior Clay Sculptor & Alias Modeler or in any similar position.
