Overview:
The Merchant Services Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining merchant services banking relationships throughout the Credit Union’s operating footprint. This position is also responsible for offering training and development for a defined branch network as well as assisting the Business Relationship and Commercial Lending departments in strengthening member business relationships.
The salary range for this position is $47,840 - $70,398.12
Responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for selling Idaho Central’s merchant payment processing (including Visa, Amex, Discover, MasterCard, gift cards, etc.) and the corresponding hardware and software.
  • Acquires new merchant processing relationships within an assigned region. This also includes establishing new business members and working with the Business Relationship Officers, Commercial Loan Officers, and branch employees in growing these relationships.
  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, works with Sales Manager and other support staff to assist in the setup, processing, and member business concerns as they may arise.
  • Manages new member’s implementation on merchant processing by managing member expectations and satisfaction with the implementation process.
  • Assist in the rollout with the branch network, Business Relationship and Commercial Lending teams with marketing strategies to promote Idaho Central Merchant Processing products throughout the Credit Union’s operating footprint while providing ongoing training to these teams.
  • Networking with outside referral sources and current member base for additional business opportunities.
  • Cold calling for additional referrals and working with Credit Union partners to generate referral sources for sales opportunities.
  • Develops and promotes relationships with other departments and managers to ensure the members are properly handled according to the service standards created at the Credit Union.
  • The ability to perform statement analysis and rate reviews.
  • Cultivates strong community relations to develop a pipeline of quality prospects and referral sources.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Zero to three years merchant services or commercial banking experience, or equivalent work. The qualified candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of exceeding quota, strong business development, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and in an organized manner. Excellent communication and people skills.

Performance Standard:
Must take pride in department by processing loans in a timely and efficient manner with a high attention to detail. Ability to travel throughout the state on a regular basis. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on attendance, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Physical Requirements:
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
