Westminster Village is hiring a full-time Memory Care Assistant who takes a compassionate approach when delivering care to our residents in the Memory Care Unit. The perfect candidate will be working from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, including every other weekend, and some holidays. Apply today for immediate consideration!

Duties

  • Promote resident independence and choice.
  • Assist with meal service and table clean up after meals when needed
  • Provide residents assistance with activities of daily living
  • Monitor resident’s self-administration of medication as indicated on resident service plan
  • Conduct monthly dementia in-service staff training and maintain necessary records.
  • Respond to emergency calls within the Memory Care area.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with resident family members to ensure excellent customer service
  • Maintain a dementia-safe environment
  • Lead efforts to educate campus staff and the community in dementia-related topics and act as a campus liaison
  • Facilitate dialogue with residents, families, Memory Care Nurses and staff to make changes needed to allow residents to live at their highest level of independence.
  • Review with the Memory Care staff new residents and/or residents who have been hospitalized, admitted to Martin Health Center, receiving supportive care trays, and/or had supportive care calls for emergencies/illness.
  • Respond to emergency calls within the Memory Care area and work with Assisted Living Nurse to assess Assisted Living residents for illness and possible admission to the hospital or skilled nursing facility.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Long term care experience-preferred
  • Ability to comply with HIPPA guidelines and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of patient care delivery in the Geriatric/Skilled Nursing Setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, and tact in interactions with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate calm professional manner in the event of emergency.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
