SRMC is searching for a Clinic Medication Aide to join our TEAM. In addition to providing day-to-day support to our SRMC CLINIC TEAMS, this role will play a critical role in supporting and improving our RHC Family Practice related systems and processes. This role has the opportunity to learn and add value to the full scope of Medication Aides at SRMC, including but not limited to, direct patient care under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with SRMC CLINIC TEAM members to provide day-to-day patient care
- Observe and report changes in the patient’s status to the appropriate nursing or medical staff.
- Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
- Administer medications as ordered by the provider and noted by the provider or R.N./L.P.N.
- Perform and document CLIA waived tests.
- Answers phone calls, takes messages, removes voicemail messages from workgroup mailboxes and delivers them to the LPN or RN to be addressed.
- Calls patients regarding appointments and general knowledge information that the provider or nurse has given instructions to do, while not discussing anything that is not related to the direction given.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing work assignments and/or responsibilities
- Positive, TEAM-oriented attitude
- Strong communication skills, with ability to partner with all clinic leaders at all levels
- Remain sufficiently knowledgeable about the legal aspects of his or her responsibilities and activities to be able to avoid inadvertent violation of State and Federal statutes and regulations.
- Expected to comply with applicable laws related to their job responsibilities and refrain from knowingly participate in illegal activities or failing to meet affirmative legal duties.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hold an active 40-hour Medication Aide Certification through the state of Nebraska.
- Hold a current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification.
- Prefer 1-2 years of clinic experience as a Medication Aide.
Full-time Monday -Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
