Medical Malpractice Paralegal

Miami - Coral Springs

Florida Based law firm is searching for an experienced Medical Malpractice/Complex Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team based in: Miami / Ft. Lauderdale / West Palm Beach area

The right paralegal will have compassion and understanding for the clients they are working with. They will also have integrity and excellence for the work they will do for the firm and must be able to adhere to the firm's core values.

Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Assists with taking complex cases from inception through trial
  • Analyzes documents
  • Summarizes deposition transcripts
  • Prepares, reviews and drafts standard correspondence and other legal documents
  • Opens files, requests conflict of interest checks and prepares new matter reports/retainer letters
  • Pulls cases from legal database per the attorney’s request
  • Prepares documents to produce in electronic document database format
  • Processes and uploads documents into electronic document review platforms
  • Maintains and organizes document production into electronic document database for review and organization of case
  • Prepares demonstrative exhibits, timelines, and charts for attorneys’ use in court
  • Prepares trial materials and presentations of exhibits for use in court
  • Must have at least 3+ years’ experience in Medical Malpractice/Complex Personal Injury
  • Very challenging position so the ideal candidate will be very skilled in dealing with Medical Malpractice and Complex Personal Injury Cases Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines
  • Knowledge of Local, State and Federal Court Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Familiarity with E-filing procedures
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Paralegal Education and Experience Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate
  • 3yrs experience
  • Combination of education and/or experience

Pay: From $35 per hour
