Job description
Looking to hire a Medical Assistant immediately at the Vein & Vascular Institute of the South's Oxford office. We are seeking a savvy, strong-minded individual with excellent people skills. Must be dependable, team-oriented, and able to adjust in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants MUST have a valid driver’s license and access to an operating vehicle.
MUST be willing to travel throughout the week to our various locations (Germantown, Millington, Oxford, Senatobia, Southaven, and West Memphis).
Key Job Responsibilities
•Covering the front desk and greeting patients as needed.
•Proactively fulfills patient care responsibilities as requested or needed by physician or other clinicians in the physician office.
•Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up exam room, walking patients to ultrasounds, etc.
•Contribute to providing an efficient flow of patients through the clinic.
•Obtaining patient vital signs
•Ensuring adequate supply of office inventory and stocking break rooms/areas.
•Updating and entering medical history/information to patient charts.
•Effectively coordinates activities in support of departmental operations.
•Performs other clerical duties as may be assigned by management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with patients, patient families and physicians in a tactful and professional manner.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects to maintain workflow as a medical assistant.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to perform basic computer skills.
- Ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
Resident Rights Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to assure resident rights are protected, including the right of refusal.
Requirements
•Certification for Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant
•High School graduate or equivalent.
•Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant or similar health care experience.
•MUST have a valid driver's license and access to an operating vehicle
