The Medical Affairs Professional, Immunology plays an important role for medical affairs to meet both external customer and internal business needs, and will be responsible for several important aspects to facilitate our processes for internal coordination, operational excellence, and external Thought Leader (TL) experience.
The MAP will coordinate, drive and deliver Medical Affairs operational excellence through the integration of medical plans and activities within the broader brand plan. The MAP will also be leading medical affairs related projects, independently or in collaboration with the medical affairs team. The role will align the processes and systems of the medical affairs team, coordinate and fulfill administrative deliverables, support and maintain overview of tactical deliverables, all focused on improving the impact of our Medical Affairs team.
The MAP will work closely with the relevant medical affairs functions (CRPs, CRSs and Medical Leadership) as well as Brand Managers (BM) and the cross-functional team such as CMS, E&C, finance and local agencies in the DE Hub.
The role requires good coordination skills, strong organizational ability, project management capabilities and matrix leadership skills to deliver timely and accurate on relevant deliverables.
Strong inter-personal skills, ability understand complex processes, self-motivation and ability to see opportunities for optimization is essential for the role.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Affairs Team Support
  • Oversee and drive planning, execution and follow-up in the TL MaP tool and other medical metrics to ensure effective and comprehensive internal coordination, operational excellence, and excellent external TL experience
  • Support and coordinate the planning, documentation & implementation of medical led activities (RWE projects, symposia, advisory boards, consultancies, scientific exchange and educational events with HCP’s activities), leading on key elements as defined by the MA team.
  • Originator for Veeva materials
  • Coordinate interaction with third parties e.g. medical writers, content development agencies and others
  • Contribute to the operational dimensions of the local medical activities and procedures
  • Customers insight analysis and other internally-driven projects (medical affairs immunology and scorecards, budget management, Key Opinion Leaders Engagement process, etc.).
Scientific Expertise
  • Serve as a scientific resource for the brand team, contributing to the creation of medical information deliverables and supporting scientific data disclosures (e.g. scientific disclosures encore plan).
Medical Affairs Operational excellence and Project Leadership
  • Lead Medical Affairs related projects that drive productivity, digitalization, optimization and improve the overall impact and efficiency of the Medical Affairs team
  • Project leadership of MA activities
Customer Support & Experience
  • Respond and coordinate to external customer questions and needs related to Lilly owned activities and contracting (e.g. IMA requests)
  • Develop and maintain collaborations and relationships with relevant professional societies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive improvement in customer engagement through Digital innovation
Other key operational and oversight responsibilities
  • Own PO management and coordinate periodic opex follow up with Hub Finance and BM
  • Monitor and track performance of the key processes
    • Keep oversight of OPEX
    • Keep oversight of IITs and sponsorships
    • Keep oversight over Medical plans
    • Keep oversight over CET-tool and calendar

Education & Medical Experience
  • Bachelors level degree in health or life sciences
  • Experience in medical affairs, in particular in the rheumatology therapeutic area is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in German and English languages

You possess a strong performance-oriented mindset. You are detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects to deliver on time and with quality. You are customer-focused and like to present and discuss data with an internal audience.
