Job Profile Summary: This role provides accurate information and advice regarding qualifications for State and Federal programs. Assesses patients’ needs to determine state and federal eligibility, assists patients through the application process, and advocates for the patient until case closure. He/she will also assist in closed account review and staff training.
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides advocacy support to patients.
- Conducts patient interviews to determine state, federal, and charity program eligibility.
- Gathers required application information.
- Guides patients in completing applications and all specific requirements for asset reduction and trust accounts.
- Advocates on behalf of the patient until case closure.
- Identifies patients' who are eligible for prescription assistance.
- Participates in discharge planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred
- Less than 2 years health care accounts receivable experience required

This job requires automotive transportation and a valid drivers license. The hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This job will require driving to different Allina Hospitals and may require driving to multiple hospitals to complete the application process. This position entails meeting with patients face to face, in a hospital room setting.
