This Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Indoor Air Quality, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of

Mechanical Engineering, will design and develop IAQ systems for residential and commercial HVAC system at the Gainesville, FL manufacturing facility.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development.
  • Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams at multiple levels.
  • Developing computer models to evaluate the efficacy of the proposed IAQ system design.
  • Coordinating the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required to implement new designs.
  • Developing reliability/design verification plans for each system or subsystem based on product design requirements and reliability goals.
  • Preparing design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval.
  • Provide detailed test plans and reports.
  • Manage multiple projects, work with cross-functional teams and deliver on performance, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Ensure Lennox drawings and specifications are understood and followed by the suppliers in design and testing.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support of existing products.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering with the appropriate experience.
  • 5+ years’ work experience in engineering design environment.
  • Knowledge of IAQ is a strong differentiator.
  • Dynamic “can do” attitude with desire to work with a great team and products.
  • Skill in facilitating meetings, making presentations, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity in design development or application of HVAC system a plus.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Risk assessment, quality and reliability procedures is

required.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and failure analysis to identify root cause.
  • Knowledge of PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), Windchill, and ANSYS applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%
