Job description

Responsibilities:

• Design and build proof of concepts with the latest technology
• Mechanical integration of PCB assemblies in molded plastic or stamped housing
• Design mechanical portion of products with team members
• Develop designs and engineering details from general concepts, create BOM
• Work with new suppliers to integrate their technology and see how it best fits with Methode products
• Work with Sales to support customer visits and explain in depth Methode products and your innovation ideas
• Make technical customer presentation on Methode products
• Directly interact with Manufacturing plant to understand manufacturability
• View and modify CAD models (CATIA, NX or any CAD software) as needed
• Make samples that represent concepts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with automotive electronics packaging, interior and exterior lighting experience preferred
• Ability to use one of the CAD software packages (CREO/CATIA/NX/SOLIDWORK) to view and cut sections
• Strong background in automotive electronics mechanical packaging and interconnection technology
• Experience in HMI preferred
• Experience Fabrication tools, 3D printing and(or) Maker BOT resources preferred
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent people skills, ability to work well with global teams
• Ability to travel up to 15% travel within the US and Mexico

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $130,000.00 per year
