JOB SUMMARY

Work as part of a tight-knit engineering team solving complex technical problems and refining and developing proprietary manufacturing processes. Participate in custom engineering projects and develop exciting new DragonPlate® products.

Work involves processes, tooling, and systems that produce beautiful, high-quality carbon fiber products. Analyze composite processes and tooling to increase efficiency, reduce non-conforming parts, and improve part cosmetics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop new products, services, and manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes and documentation for new and existing products.
  • Develop and refine tooling, fixturing, and work instructions to reduce defects and lower product costs.
  • Provide technical support to the factory and liaise between manufacturing and engineering in resolving production issues.
  • Work with the sales team and customers to create detailed product specifications. Provide material and labor estimates to support the quotation process.
  • Research, acquire, deploy, and optimize new process tooling and equipment.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Seeking applicants with 3 to 10 years of experience.

WORK LOCATION

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Analyze and solve technical and manufacturing problems effectively.
  • Gather and summarize data, propose solutions to problems, and prioritize work.
  • Must understand computers, machining, and assembly practices, including tools and fixtures.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generation of reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to design components and fixtures using CAD/CAM.

· Strong organizational skills, including managing multiple tasks and priorities and quickly adapting to changing situations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continual process improvements.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of different manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Proven ability to read, understand and generate complex engineering drawings and technical instructions or manuals.
  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed schedules, performance, and design objectives.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal or scheduled work hours regularly.

MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

High mental and visual attention is required for planning complex work methods and sequences to obtain a product's size, shape, or physical qualities.

EQUIPMENT USED

Computer Software: SolidWorks, MasterCAM, BobCad, and Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
  • Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
