Collins Aerospace is looking for a Materials & Processes Engineer who will primarily focus on support of composites, structural adhesives, and other organic materials used in the nacelle. You will be creating and maintaining materials and/or process specifications, providing real-time support to the program design teams, addressing questions and issues from Operations and suppliers, providing material catalog support for engineering materials and conducting special process supplier qualifications. *This position works 100% onsite in Riverside, CA*

Primary Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining materials and/or process specifications for structural adhesive and other organic material applications.

• Providing technical support to engineering groups, Operations, external suppliers, and Aftermarket.

• Conducting special process supplier qualification audits

• Support site initiatives in process improvements and/or research and development

• Investigates root cause of process failures or quality issues and develops go-forward approach.

• Communicates and interfaces with other engineering disciplines, management, operations, shop floor personnel, and external vendors.

• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally as needed

Basic Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

• Familiarity with composites manufacturing processes, prepregs, structural adhesives and other organic materials

• Current Technical Writing experience

• Experienced using MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace manufacturing experience

• Experience with composites, structural adhesives and other organic materials used in nacelles.

• Technical writing (specifications) skills.

• Proficiency with SAP and Teamcenter.

• Continuous Process Improvement background (Lean, Six Sigma or ACE)

• Experience with PowerPoint

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 124,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
