MSI Express is hiring a full-time Materials Planner for their Supply Chain Department in Portage, IN.

The Materials Planner (MP) is responsible to provide management of materials and material capacity relating to planning customer material requirements, purchasing raw materials, monitor planning of production orders to meet inventory objectives, customer delivery expectations, operational efficiencies and company objectives. The Materials Planner manages the day to day activities of procurement, material movement, material storage, and inventory control activities of raw materials. Deliverables range across key customer and vendor management, short and long-term material planning, and materials management.

Job Requirements:

• Support safety activities within the supply chain, warehouse, and materials management functions.
• Oversees material management for the facility to meet production schedules and confirms order acknowledgement
• Manages all purchase orders for raw materials day to day raw material flow and inventory levels.
• Place and track purchase orders with suppliers and or advise customer of material needs.
• Establishes and controls min-max inventory levels for the purchased and BPP manufactured raw materials
• Identify, manage, and support loss reduction initiatives
• Maintains purchase orders on internal and external PO logs, distributes to internal and external shareholders/systems as necessary
• Customer and Vendor management.
• Oversees raw material schedules and coordinates scheduling of material with production scheduler
• Participates in production scheduling meetings to provide information that would directly impact either material planning and or the production scheduling process.
• Collaborates with appropriate shareholders to determine disposition of raw materials identified on monthly old and obsolete stock inventory reports
• Participate and assist in development of new, effective programs/policies for customer, supplier, transportation and logistics management in conjunction with Supply Chain and plant leadership
• Prepares monthly charts on aged inventories and distributes to appropriate personnel.
• Analyze production yield, material usage, and material loss data to understand customer/material impacts.
• Provide daily, weekly and or monthly inventory reports to internal and external shareholders, as well as participate in the monthly metrics review.
• Accountable for departmental project deliverables. Secure and allocate appropriate resources and manage projects to meet goals and achieve financial objectives.
• Leverage internal/external experts in network to accomplish goals.
• Responsible for delivery of short-term and-long term results in order to develop and maintain the organization’s credibility with our core customer base.
