WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Manage production scheduling/planning for the plant- Responsible for establishing and maintaining data integrity
- Manage staff planners/buyers and vendor-managed buyers
- Provide support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production requirements and customer needs
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and set aggressive targets for cost reduction of supplies
- Manage Receiving department and raw material storage
- Oversee daily cycle counts and inventory accuracy, reconciliation of inventory discrepancies or inaccuracies
- Interface with S&OP Manager, Supply Chain Analyst and Product Managers on planning and forecasting
- Responsible for data integrity of the ERP system including material locations and negatives on hand
- Coordination of annual Physical Inventory
- Support Engineering with new product development sourcing needs and phase in / phase out of inventory
- Ability to manage in a highly dynamic work environment
- Supervision of up to 10 people including Planners/Buyers, Receiving personnel
WHAT WE SEEK
- 7+ years of experience in materials procurement, planning and management in a manufacturing environment
- Previous personnel management experience
- Knowledge and experience with MRP. Knowledge of Oracle preferred
- Proven ability to work within a multifunctional team and ability to manage in a rapidly changing environment with professionalism
- Positive personality that can communicate with all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of accomplished projects with increasing responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Operations/Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in Oracle 11i is preferred
- Experience with lean manufacturing is preferred
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk around; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Lifting of equipment under test and associated support equipment will also be required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distinguish colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus clearly
- Travel is required (min 25%)
