Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Communications group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Manager of Lab wide Communication Services.

Our team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls EROB facility with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

  • The Lab wide Communications Services Manager reports to the INL Communications Director in the External Engagement and Communications directorate.
  • The manager in this position will lead the Visual Communications and Tours, Hosting & Protocol departments within the Communications directorate which includes Graphic Design, Photo and Video and VIP visits, Tours, Events Hosting and Protocol. Employees in these departments are experienced communications professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing or a related field and 8 years of experience or Advanced degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Requires prior communications management experience with a strong focus on writing, central messaging and branding.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience leading teams of communications professionals.
  • Ability to focus and work well under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and integrity.
  • Organizational and task management skills and the ability to manage complex workflow seamlessly.
  • Proven success contributing to an essential communications function for a large, complex organization.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience with science or engineering public communications.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a respectful, collaborative approach.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage conflict and balance competing demands professionally.
  • Some travel to other DOE Laboratories, Washington D.C. may be required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
  • Ability to successfully make quick decisions and meet goals while at times working to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative with a keen attention to detail.

  • Salary 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
