Position Summary:
Manages day-to-day loaded container movement of all loaded containers – imports and exports. Cooperates proactively with other departments and customers to achieve reduced export booking fall offs, reduced import container idle time, and increased utilization of containers and chassis with loaded containers. Works closely with Trade, Equipment, Export Services, and Import Services to ensure export loads are tendered prior to cargo cuts. Maintains import container idle time to a minimum. Responsible for ensuring all loads scheduled for specific services and delivered within the timeframes are received and loaded to the vessel according to Trade vessel allocation plans.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Communicate with both internal and external customers.
Handle significant volume of telephone and written communication.
Communicates with other business units to ensure cargo moves expeditiously.
Ensures the movement of Intermodal cargo is accomplished in a timely, cost effective manner.
Utilizes the internet and other software to monitor work flow.
Generates weekly production report.
Communicates with truck and rail vendors to ensure service levels are maintained.
Manage staff; review and adapt processes and procedures as necessary to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
Monitor staffing levels, vacations, absenteeism, tardies, to ensure adequate staffing always available.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
Good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Access, Word).
Thorough understanding of CMA CGM operating systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 4 years supervisory or management experience required.
6+ years experience in the shipping industry, including but not limited to Documentation, Logistics, Operations, and Customer Service.
