In order to be on top of our strategic priority, we are now looking for the right person to join our team as Manager Health and Safety Compliance and Assurance within BU Offshore. In this role you’re responsible to drive an Compliance Assurance strategy and framework within the H&S management system of Vattenfall BA Wind.

You will support drive the H&S continual improvement within BU Offshore by acting as an independent checking organism for our BU Offshore organization. You will manage all H&S works for this area and act as the connection point to the BA Wind (offshore) Health and Safety organization. You will manage the H&S specialists assigned to this central area and report directly to the H&S Director for BU Offshore.

As Manager Health and Safety Compliance and Assurance you have the following key responsibilities:

  • Report to the H&S Director Offshore with independent advice on organizational arrangements and processes for safety assurance and compliance of the organization’s H&S management system.
  • Drive and report upon the effectiveness of safety performance monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation.
  • Drive and manage the overall Management Review for BU Offshore.
  • Drive and report upon the effectiveness the organizational H&S Risk Management Process and H&S Management of Change Process.
  • To manage a team specialists within the Offshore Organization and ensure independent, authoritative advice, support & assistance to the line organization covering the function of Health and Safety within Compliance and Assurance.
  • To operate within an offshore Health & Safety core team and jointly drive and implement the Health and Safety offshore Strategy.

As Manager Health and Safety Compliance and Assurance you have the following key deliverables and activities:

  • Manage, support and coach the Health and Safety team to ensure the right level of H&S performance and fulfilling their H&S responsibilities in their respective areas.
  • Drive and improve upon the Safety Compliance and Assurance framework within the existing H&S Management System.
  • Plan, organize and perform internal as well as external Health and Safety audits.
  • Regularly reviewing regulatory H&S requirements.
  • Review and report upon the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support the business and its H&S Specialists to identify the current performance gaps, continually improve the H&S performance and drive standardization within the assigned business area.
  • Development, communicate and follow up of specific Health and Safety measures within the assigned business area.
  • Promote and support the continual improvement of Health and Safety in the areas/activities covered.
  • Review safety assessments and propose organizational improvements.
  • Ensures adequate reporting to ensure the N-2 manager has optimal information about the current and future state of affairs and can take corrective measures if necessary.

Your profile


Your profile as Manager Health and Safety Offshore Projects

We are looking for a communicative leader who is able to focus on both people and business and has demonstrable experience in managing teams in change and challenging environments.

The unit as well as the industry is in rapid change and our successful candidate needs to be able to combine a strategic and commercial focus with operational capability building on the foundations already established through the last years of development.

Furthermore:

  • You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) level education.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in an international organisation, with demonstrable leadership experience in the different national areas of operation and across all scopes of work, preferably within the marine construction, energy and wind sector a substantial period of which must be in a H&S Management position.
  • You will hold a recognized qualification in Health and Safety, as a minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • You are very experienced within safety management systems (ISO 45001) and H&S auditing.
  • Experience with Client / Contractor relationships & management.
  • Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written.
  • Full and detailed understanding of applicable H&S related legislation.
