Job Description

This position manages the process, timeline and deliverables for the monthly financial close and is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial performance. Collaborating closely with sites and functions, this role provides insightful corporate analytics, supervises the creation of presentations and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for executive management.

Job Duties

  • Direct month-end financial close process, managing timeline, roles and responsibilities, standard reporting and analysis, related presentations, and analysis across all sites.


  • Spearhead insightful financial reporting and analysis provided to executive management, plant leadership, department managers and other stakeholders. Regularly assess and implement processes and tools that streamline production and meaningful commentary.


  • Interact regularly with Key Business Unit executives, controllers, and accountants, as well other Olympus business units, regarding financial reporting matters and various analytics and requests.


  • Drive improvement projects for more effective processes and system utilization.


  • Oversee PowerBI environment. Heavily utilized for reporting and analytics, this system must provide timely and accurate information, in alignment with other financial systems and processes.


  • Liaison for corporate functions such as Accounting and Tax. Ensure Financial Planning & Analysis is aligned with the Accounting process, including changes to Oracle General Ledger, as well as any corporate decisions that impact the regions deliverables.


  • Key contributor to planning process. Work closely with planning staff to ensure successful completion, as well as reporting alignment.


  • Mentor staff and others across the function, to strengthen and improve the Finance and Planning function.


  • Other essential duties as directed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.


  • Minimum of 5-7 years of financial experience, preferably in an international corporate setting interfacing with multiple divisions.


  • Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience and/or direct mentorship and training of team members.


  • Able to learn and apply IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) accounting standards to financial reporting and analysis.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Employs excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation communication skills.


  • Values and establishes effective interpersonal relationships.


  • Exudes obsessive commitment to data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness; detail orientated.


  • Strong financial systems acumen. Experience with general ledger, consolidation and reporting tools, such as Oracle, Hyperion, PowerBI.


  • Robust technical skills, strong Excel skills and ability to learn and utilize other business tools.
