Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager Brighton Park ER is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.


What qualifications you will need:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License
  • BLS Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • PALS Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • TNCC Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • ENPC Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • NRP (MCMC, CPED, SMC, BPED) Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer date
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire.
  • CEN must be achieved within 12 months of hire or transfer if not current.
  • CPEN must be achieved within 12 months of hire or transfer if not current.

B. Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business is preferred. Three years of acute care experience, with at least one year of leadership experience in healthcare within specialty. Preferred degree can substitute for one (1) years of the required experience. Bachelors in Nursing must be obtained within 3 years of hire or transfer.

C. Special qualifications: Effective communication skills; both orally and written, with flexible interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information within all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills. Creative and innovative skills in personnel management and ability to facilitate growth and development of department and staff.
