Your day-to-day work will include:
Aeyon is seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about helping clients achieve excellence. Qualified candidates will have a creative, holistic, and systematic approach to problem-solving. This position supports the Defense Innovation Board (DIB) in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (USD(R&E)). The Defense Innovation Board is a federal advisory board within the Department of Defense that provides the Secretary of Defense and other senior leaders within the DoD with independent advice and recommendations on innovative means to address future emerging technology challenges and opportunities.
The Management Analyst will focus on providing research and analysis to support the development of advice and recommendations on defense innovation.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS:
- Develop a strong understanding, with a willingness to learn, the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) guidelines and how to manage Federal Board compliance.
- Ensures compliance with FACA policies by completing proper paperwork, uploading FACA documentation in General Services Administration (GSA) FACA database, and the DoD FACA Portal
- Ability to initiate, create, coordinate, review with DIB leadership, and submit all event planning paperwork and approval packages, in compliance with FACA guidelines, for the conduct of DIB/subcommittee/task force official events.
- Familiar with Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) Internal-controlled correspondence, reviewing all incoming tasks and congressional actions, and providing recommendations on the quality and timeliness to the agency.
- Under general supervision, employees will be expected to exercise sound and independent judgment and consistently exercise discretion.
- Ability to conduct support under a wide range of established FACA policies, practices, and procedures and adhere to the specific FACA documentation, communication, reporting, and monitoring requirements.
- Design and execute complex event planning and logistics concepts in support of clients' public meetings and other meetings and events organized in support of the office.
- Build and maintain relationships across the DoD enterprise and relevant stakeholders.
- Present management reports, weekly and bi-weekly status updates to senior leaders, trip reports, and other memoranda for the Department of Defense as required for the efficient functioning of the client.
- Assist the Executive Director and Business Operations Manager in leading projects that develop concise, actionable, and high-impact policy recommendations to improve the Department of Defense's tech identification and adoption and broad innovation efforts.
- Staffing the Executive Director through drafting read-ahead, talking points, and project proposals, and maintaining situational awareness and records on relevant meetings, working sessions, and conferences related to the DIB's work.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to learn new data sources quickly and develop creative solutions to new problems.
- Knowledgeable in defense tech issues and private sector innovation ecosystems and enthusiasm for driving change and innovation across the Department of Defense
- Experience working on-site with Federal Government clients.
- Skills in creating visual aids to show metrics for senior leader review and managing the dashboards to track the status of reports and documents across a lifecycle.
- Strong writing/briefing skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project 2010, and visual aid tools
- Working knowledge of SharePoint 2010 or similar knowledge/collaboration management tools preferred
- High performer and self-starter, takes individual initiative to solve problems.
- Excellent team player, ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance is required.

Work hours:
Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.
