Chelsea Piers Fitness has proven its commitment to world-class fitness with its 130,000 square foot flagship club in Chelsea and a stand-alone club in Downtown Brooklyn. In the Spring of 2023, Chelsea Piers Fitness will expand to Prospect Heights, opening our second stand- alone 52,000 square foot club. Chelsea Piers Field House will be opening its first stand-alone 75,000 square foot facility.

The new Field House will feature Olympic-level gymnastics training equipment, state-of-the-art indoor boarded soccer fields, a warm-water, learn-to-swim pool, and multiple party/event spaces. Role & Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will have the responsibility for performing a variety of skilled maintenance work requiring the knowledge of various repairs (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting) under the support of the Operations Manager, to resolve facility operational and/or safety concerns. The Maintenance Technician will work both alone and as a team depending on the required manpower to complete a task or project. Work will be delegated out and put on the maintenance schedule by the Operations Manager on a weekly basis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with venue personnel, subcontractors, vendors (e.g. identifying projects specifications, ordering of materials, equipment, and supplies) for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
- Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and cleanliness, and identifying necessary repairs.
- Repairs a variety of items and/or system components frequently of a complex nature (e.g., cabinetry, walls, doors and hardware, office equipment, phone/data cables)
- Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
- Performs a variety of facility and equipment repair and maintenance activities within areas of trade expertise (e.g., electrical, carpentry, plumbing, concrete, drywall, painting).
- Procures equipment and supplies in collaboration with outside vendors for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years in building maintenance is required
- Specific skill-based competencies required to perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in specific trade work; leading and guiding other skilled maintenance workers; and planning and managing projects
- Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups, problem solve to identify issues and create a plan of action
- Knowledge of general carpentry is required
- Punctual, friendly and motivated
- Good "people skills" and a team player
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be willing to work varied shifts and possible overtime
- Must be able to lift up to 30 to 45 pounds
