Maintenance Technician

The full time Maintenance associate is responsible for performing general maintenance and commercial appliance repair for the location; ensuring that the location meets local-state-federal laws and regulations; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Inspects, diagnoses, and performs repairs and maintenance on all commercial food service equipment
• Maintains small commercial appliances, commercial kitchen equipment, minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition
• Coordinates repairs within approved budgetary guidelines
• Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and records
• Travel to various Travel Plazas on the NY State Thruway as needed for repairs and maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

• Requires a minimum 3-years of experience in maintenance field.
• Requires knowledge of the following trades: small appliance repair, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions.
• Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 80lbs.
• Requires the ability to perform tasks while on a ladder.
• Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and arm motions. Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
• Requires a clean driving record; passing Applegreen background check required.
• Certificate of completion of courses in above mentioned trades is recommended, but not required.
