Job description

The Oil City Housing Authority is seeking a full-time maintenance mechanic to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment for the Oil City Housing Authority. This position includes performing maintenance labor duties, carpentry repair, replacement of various items or equipment and cleaning for the renovation of residential housing units, operating mechanical services and vehicles, and monitoring supply inventory. This work will support the Housing Authority by providing a safe and clean environment for the residents and Authority staff in alignment with HUD/REAC housing inspection protocols. All duties will be done in a professional and courteous manner.

High School Diploma or equivalent, at least two years of custodial and maintenance experience, and demonstrated knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work, or any combination of schooling and experience in this field preferred. Able to understand and perform oral and written instruction. Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently and/or as part of a team. Able to safely use a variety of hand/power tools, equipment, and chemicals to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation. Basic knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, and operations software. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license with appropriate endorsements/class (as needed). Demonstrate knowledge in reading blueprints and drawings. Ability to be flexible and perform other tasks as assigned. Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety rules, practices, and procedures. Must be able to pass drug and criminal background screenings.

Pay: $29,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
