The site is located on Bushy Park Road in Goose Creek, South Carolina. CRP provides industrial services, such as steam water compressed air, rail services, security, and emergency response to the nine tenant companies on site. Job Overview:
Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and performing preventative maintenance of on-site equipment and operating systems. Employee will progress through four levels within this position in accordance with the approved skills list. Fills in for other employees when necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and shield metal arc.
- Performs repairs, installation, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and other maintenance activities on equipment, support systems, and operating systems.
- Assists with establishment of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for existing and new systems.
- Researches technical information and drawings using computer and manual files.
- Inputs job history and failure reports in the maintenance management system.
- Assists management in developing short and long-term strategies including training programs.
- Ensures that Safety, OSHA, USEPA, SCDHEC, and other regulatory requirements are met or exceeded in production areas.
- Participates in Safety Audits, Process Safety Management, ISO 9001, RC 14001, and Site Safety Process activities to ensure requirements are met or exceeded. Adheres with HSEQ policies and procedures in functional area. Provides input as needed to the ISO 9001 and RC 14001 Management Review Teams.
Specific Skills:
- Possesses general mechanical background
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google Mail, INFOR, and Lotus Notes
- Positive customer relations skills
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience with industrial/commercial welding and maintenance of equipment is required.
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering/maintenance technology, equivalent military training, or 10 years of experience with industrial/commercial welding and maintenance of equipment is preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
Possess visual acuity to operate machines, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment with accuracy and neatness; ability to hear, reach, grasp, stand, talk, grasp, talk, and hear; and, exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, 20lbs frequently and 10lbs constantly.
Working Conditions:
Subject to activities inside and outside; noise levels where one may need to shout to be heard; hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to high heat, chemicals, fumes, and odors; exposure to oils; and, requires wearing a respirator.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$35.00/hour depending upon education and experience
Supplemental Pay: Annual Bonus
Shift Schedule: Day shift with the option to work 5x8 or 4x10, weekdays
