Position Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is a critical technical leadership role which ensures proactive strategies, processes and practices are put in place to deliver maximum up time on all production equipment and the facility by organizing, planning and maintaining the building, grounds, electrical and mechanical equipment with particular attention towards safety and security. In addition, the role is accountable for troubleshooting and facilitating performance of maintenance tasks on a daily basis that are critical to a smooth and efficient manufacturing process. This position is responsible for leading maintenance team members and vendors to support effective equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment and system issues.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a safe workplace is provided for all employees; frequently inspects department for safety compliance. Completes accident or near miss investigations and schedules appropriate follow-up reviews; identifies areas of needed learning and conducts necessary training to create a zero-accident environment.
  • Builds a high performing, engaged team by creating and implementing engagement plans to create a work environment which grows and retains talent. Collaborates with functional teams to establish and manage headcount plan supporting recruiting, onboarding, training and retention efforts. Assists with employee selection and ensures they have proper skills, training, feedback and resources necessary to be effective in their jobs. Leads as a servant leader and builds a highly engaged, safe and productive team.
  • Keeps detailed and accurate records: including but not limited to: maintenance, PM, vendor and employee training.
  • Organizes planned activities (goals) into a transparent, visible weekly schedule.
  • Organizes projects to include coordination, planning, gathering information, establish practical priorities, evaluate results and plan accordingly.
  • Provides services ranging from preparation of quotation of in-house design/build to major renovation work.
  • Negotiates and oversees service contracts and technical contractors performing repairs on equipment or the building and property.
  • Establishes process for a customer focused preventative maintenance program and a work order request program ensuring that necessary staffing, plant education and supplies are available to operate these systems.
  • Assists in developing realistic operation and Capital budgets based on the plant’s overall financial objectives and the department’s proposed objectives.
  • Assists in evaluation and projects the impact of new technology on the department budget.
  • Evaluates equipment and determines preventative maintenance action and safety procedures.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities and events.
  • Maintains timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Technical Degree in engineering, Mechanical preferred or equivalent Maintenance leadership experience with technical or trade certifications.
  • 5+ years of maintenance supervision experience
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • CNC Machining equipment maintenance experience is preferred
  • Respectful union relations experience a plus
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft office suite, TPM software, etc.
