Job Title: Maintenance and Cleaning Person

Job Summary: Southwest University is seeking a dependable Maintenance and Cleaning Person to perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure our building is well-maintained, clean, and safe for staff and visitors. This position will require a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and effectively manage their time to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing broken fixtures, and painting as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and address them proactively.
• Keep the building clean and well-maintained, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, cleaning restrooms, and removing trash.
• Clean and sanitize common areas, including kitchens and break rooms.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous waste materials.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in maintenance and/or custodial work.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as needed.
• Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
