Job Information
As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the shipping/traffic and receiving functions. You will lead a small dedicated team that will work with external and internal cross functional teams.
Role & Responsibility
- Develops methods and procedures for transportation of incoming materials from vendors and transportation of commodities from departments to customers
- Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation
- Negotiates contracts for leasing of transportation equipment or property and freight rate discounts with carriers
- Directs scheduling of both pick-ups and shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates (inbound and outbound)
- Manages all oversea shipments and makes sure that we are incompliance with all regulations for inbound and outbound shipments
- Review all freight bills to ensure accurate freight costs
- Responsible for compliance with applicable D.O.T. rules and regulations
- Responsible for all processing of Whole Good returns
- Initiates, investigates and resolves all damaged and lost freight claims
- Contact customers to maximize load and increase dollars shipped
- Manages the handling of finished goods inventory
- Responsible for receiving items in and moving to the appropriate areas
- Develops procedures and ensures compliance with relevant sections of the quality policy
- Reviews and manages the budget for areas of responsibility
- Manage the logistics department and provide support to team members
Job Requirement
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred
- Experience: 3>5 years of materials management and logistics experience
- Travel: <10%.
- Understanding of inventory, pfep, and import/export shipping compliance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of ERP and related Systems and proficient use of Microsoft Software and Applications
- Ability to work in a team environment
