The LIVESTRONG program is growing and is looking a lead instructor to help build and teach the program in all 3 locations in Dane County.

What is LIVESTRONG?

12-week physical activity program twice a week, designed to get survivors back on their feet. All survivors participate for free with customized exercise regimens catered to their individual needs from certified fitness instructors.

What would you do?

• Become certified as a LIVESTRONG instructor through the YMCA
• Work with the Fitness Director to become the lead instructor starting at Sun Prairie and then adding the other locations along with another instructor assisting.
• Work with the Fitness Director to communicate with other instructors and participants. Efficient in email communication.
• Preparing the session with communication to participants, getting paperwork ready, other needs from the Fitness Director.
• Provide high quality, safe and motivating instruction; provides adaptations based on individual needs in the moment.
• Works well independently and on a team.
• Ensures the safety of all participants.
• Creates a supportive, warm, friendly, non-judgement and FUN community for participants.
• Be available to travel to all locations.
• 10-15 hours depending on how many classes offered.
• instructing other classes may be available depending on experience.

Position Skills and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Group Exercise, Personal Training certification or education in the fitness field preferred.
• Availability to teach classes in the late morning, mid-afternoons.
• Willing to build a program with a team and have fun doing it!
