The YMCA of the East Bay, one of the largest YMCA’s in the country, located in the San Francisco Bay Area and headquartered in Oakland, California is looking for lifeguards for the Irvin Deutscher Family YMCA in Pleasant Hill, CA. Irvin Deutscher Family YMCA has 1 outdoor pool which is open year round, along with an indoor fitness branch, youth programs, and child care facilities.
We are currently hiring part-time lifeguards and/or swim instructors. You don’t need a certification – we will train you! We are looking for responsible, reliable, energetic individuals who can work 6-25 hours/week in a face-paced, diverse environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be at least 16 years of age
· Demonstrate ability to swim in shallow and deep water as well as tread water for 2 minutes
· Possess current American Red Cross or Y Lifeguard certification OR able to attend and successfully complete American Red Cross Lifeguard training at the YMCA
· Excellent customer service skills
· Patience and ability of communicate with members of all ages and backgrounds
· Professional demeanor-punctual and consistent
· Fully vaccinated
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
