Lifeguard Job Description:

The Legends is looking to hire an observant lifeguard who is highly responsible and who can ensure the safety of our members and their guests.

The perfect candidate for this job is able to identify any risks, think quickly, and respond appropriately. Safety always remains a top priority, but customer satisfaction should not be overlooked. The right person for this job will be able to work with people of different ages and backgrounds, treating all members and guests with respect and a positive attitude.

The main responsibility of a lifeguard is keeping everyone safe from harm, so excellent skills in the water are essential. The position of a lifeguard should not be treated lightly, so we're looking for a qualified and responsible individual who can meet all our requirements.

Responsibilities of a Lifeguard:

• Closely monitoring pool-related activities.
• Monitoring weather reports to ensure everyone's safety.
• Directing swimmers outside the water in hazardous conditions.
• Providing assistance to members and their guests.
• Providing emergency care until the arrival of medical services.
• Performing maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Explaining and enforcing the rules, regulations, and policies.
• Vacuums pool bottom, empties skimmer, skim bugs and other debris from the surface to prepare the pool for daily use
• Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and showers
• Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items
• Straightens the pool and pool areas at the end of the day
• Attends all meetings as directed by the Pool Manager and Swim Coach
• Performs required pool pre-opening duties (chemical levels)

Lifeguard Job Requirements:

• 15 years of age and older
• Valid American Red Cross certification to be reimbursed by the Club at the end of the season
• First aid, CPR certification, and Uniforms to be reimbursed by the Club at the end of the season
• Physically fit, agile, and strong
• Good communication skills
• Ability to swim required; able to swim laps and dive to the bottom of the pool

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
