Job description
The LaSalle School is seeking an several Licensed Social Workers or Licensed Mental Health Counselors (Full-Time, 40/hours per week, non-exempt/hourly). Position is located within the Ulster County School Districts.
Our ideal candidate is energetic; demonstrated experience with clinical skills, including adolescent development, family systems, group treatment, and assessment, strong Computer skills, highly developed organizational skills, strong written and communication skills, ability to work with a team of service providers, and efficient recordkeeping and time management skills.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position will provide behavioral health programming in dyads with other case managers embedded within Ulster County school districts. The program will buttress existing services available both in school and the community and provide intensive, time-limited clinical intervention and care coordination to Ulster County students. The program will be a part of the school community at one of our 9 districts and act as a link between school, community, and family. Services will be targeted toward middle-school age young people identified by the school as being able to benefit from targeted support, brief intervention, and linkage to community resources. Provider will work with a caseload of 20 youths for a period of 3-6 months.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Face-to-face sessions (in school, at home, and/or in the community) with the youth based on goals set: Behavior at school, home and in the community, Mental health, Trauma, Substance use (prevention or intervention), Academics, Community, Vocational, Family, Social (including extra-circular interests and activities), Physical wellness and access to healthcare, Household economic stability, Housing instability, Food insecurity, Violence at home or in the community, other areas as identified by the youth and their families.
- Family support sessions with the youth and their parent/caregiver at least monthly.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans. · Complete all required case related documentation.
- Ongoing communication and meetings with school staff as needed · Linkage to community supports and resources (for both youth and family), based upon building personal responsibility and accountability as well as independent living skills.
- Coordination with other involved providers including but not limited to mental health, juvenile justice, social services, primary care, etc. · Participate in a multidisciplinary team as assigned.
- Adhere to all relevant agency and regulatory expectations.
- Could also assist school personnel in direct consultation and/or crisis response(s).
- Maintain all required paperwork including treatment plans, safety plans and progress notes in a timely manner.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- MSW, LMSW required within six (6) months of hire OR MS, LMHC required within six (6) months of hire Experience with adolescents
- Demonstrates motivation to positively support agency mission, philosophy, and expectations Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the code of ethics and standards applicable to credential and scope of practice as published by the NASW.
- Must have experience in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma-Informed Care, Substance Use Prevention & Brief Intervention, Basic DBT Skills, Childhood Development, Person-Centered Care and/or Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Responsiveness (must include LGBTQ+ youth). If not had at time of hire, will receive in 6-months of hire.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
- LCSW OR LCSW-R
- Experience with providing mental health services in a school setting
