STANDARD DUTIES:
- Must attend all training provided by North Star Mohican Casino Resort.
- Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Finance Department.
- Must participate in employee random drug testing program.
- Must be able to work with a variety of people with diverse personalities.
- Must attend all meetings, as assigned.
- Must wear the approved departmental approved dress code.
- Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
- Must maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations, including and not limited to: Employment Handbook, Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Minimum Internal Controls, Department Procedures, memos and other communications from supervisory or regulatory personnel.
- All other assigned duties.
DUTIES:
- Under the direction of the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer, the Lead Auditor/Reconciliation will aid casino management in the development, implementation and monitoring of electronic and manual systems and operation procedures designed to maximize asset protection, operational efficiency and casino profitability.
- On a daily basis, the Lead Auditor/Reconciliation will have the authority over the revenue auditors including training, work schedules, annual performance reviews and conduct and correction action.
- Coordinates timely preliminary responses to Gaming Commission audit reports for submission to General Manager and Directors.
- Reviews month-end statistical reports for slots, blackjack and bingo and documents results of those reviews.
- Creates statistical/analytical reports for non-gaming departments, reviews and documents results of those reviews.
- Coordinates system file maintenance of slot and blackjack electronic systems.
- Develops and implements Financial Department accounting/auditing procedures for gaming machines and table games in compliance with Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) for gaming; perform the procedures or monitor compliance with the procedures.
- Works with casino departments to automate accounting operations.
- Assists casino departments at month-end in taking physical inventory counts.
- Assists casino departments in developing and implementing internal control procedures and standards.
- Coordinates the collection and publication of new policies and procedures for all casino departments.
- Coordinates testing of floor assets.
- Assists departments in improving operational efficiency.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
All employees of North Star Mohican Casino Resort must meet the following qualifications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Mohican Nation Gaming License.
- Must submit to a Criminal Investigation Background Check (CIB).
- Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening and health screening.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
- Successfully completed one year of college-level accounting courses and two years’ experience that included performing the job duties required of the position.
- Three years’ experience that included performing the job duties required of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- North Star Mohican Casino Resort is looking for a courteous and friendly individual.
- Two years of gaming revenue reconciliation experience is required.
- A technical and working knowledge of personal computer hardware and software is required.
- A working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and accounting software is required.
- Prior experience using Great Plains Dynamics software is helpful.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills are required.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with employees of all levels.
- Must possess the ability to plan and complete tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Must have demonstrated the ability to maintain a satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIROMENT:
- Constant hand movements (repetitive motions: grasping, holding, use of finger dexterity). Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Constant walking and standing which may include kneeling, crouching, reaching and bending.
- Occasional pushing/pulling, lifting and/or moving up to sixty (60) pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
- Work is generally performed in a casino setting with a higher noise level and where cigarette smoke is prevalent.
- Work environment is NOT smoke, noise or dust free.
