Laboratory Technician

We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Laboratory Technician in Martinsburg, WV.

Laboratory technician supporting the startup of a new kitty litter plant in Martinsburg, WV. Working under the guidance of an R&D Scientist, conduct sampling and testing of product manufacturing trials to improve productivity and efficiency of the plant agglomeration process.

Responsibilities:

· Take product samples in-line on the production floor at set intervals

· Label and catalogue samples

· Split samples and prep test samples in the lab

· Run Particle Size Distribution and Moisture tests in the lab

· Run spectroscopy tests to verify carbon levels.

· Entering test results are accurate and record results in Excel workbook

· Ensuring data accuracy of test results.

· Troubleshoot the test equipment if erroneous data is collected.

· Monitoring the testing data trend and notifying the scientist of anything out the ordinary

Requirements:

· BA or BS degree in science or technology field

· 1-2 years prior experience in a laboratory

· Preferably also prior work experience in a manufacturing environment

· Able to work while standing, breaks will be provided every 2-3 hours

· Able to lift 35 lbs. buckets of product samples

· Able to climb stairs to collect samples on the manufacturing floor

· Comfortable working in a hard hat manufacturing area where PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.

· Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)

· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and R&D partners.

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Attention to detail, well organized, able to work independently.

· Proven track record of problem solving in a laboratory environment

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.

Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $35.00 – 40.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
