Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for the planning, organizing, and supporting the overall activities of the Information Technology Department to provide efficient data, voice and instrumentation operations to meet current and future requirements of the company. Involved with the repair and maintenance of the plant electronic equipment, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide help desk support to NCP and Anew users. This includes account unlocks, password changes, user setups, PC setups and repairs, and general assistance.
  • Assist PC users on a day-to-day basis with any hardware or software problems. Informally train users as needed with questions on how to use hardware and software. Examples include intermediate MS Outlook features, formatting in MS Word or Excel, etc.
  • Provide other expertise and technical assistance as requested across NCP departments as necessary, including MAPCON software and general plant maintenance activities as needed.
  • Support/maintain hardware peripherals such as printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, and other technology hardware. Maintain audio/video hardware, including video conferencing and presentation hardware, ensuring it is operational and meets user needs.
  • Provide support for mission-critical Intellifuel and iRely scale functions at the plant and Passport/Trendar/iRely at Anew, including on-call/off-hours where necessary.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace plant instrumentation or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis. Performs preventative maintenance activities where necessary and coordinated with the plant and other IT team members.
  • Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work involving instrumentation in the plant.
  • Assists with diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance related issues including instrumentation.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or IT Director.

Education and/or Experience
This position requires a High School Degree or GED, 3-5 years experience in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes in an office environment. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate.
While outside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
