Piston Automotive is searching for an IT Business Analyst responsible for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This position reports directly to the IT Director responsible for Manufacturing Applications. This position will work closely with a well established Engineering Controls team to deliver state-of-the-art solutions within a Just-in-Sequence (JIS) automotive tier-1 supplier environment. The initial focus will be an exciting opportunity to establish MES for a brand new facility dedicated to launching General Motors business in the Lake Orion, MI area. This position has a unique opportunity to improve the organization by helping to define manufacturing principles that align with industry best practices from both a technical and procedural perspective. Travel requirements may fluctuate but less than 25% is generally anticipated. This position is based in Redford, MI with satellite offices in Pontiac, MI and Lake Orion, MI. Remote work flexibility is provided for this position.

- Responsible for planning and executing MES installation and integration at Piston Automotive facilities.
- Experience installing and supporting software in a manufacturing facility is required. Experience collaborating with controls engineers, manufacturing engineering, and other IT personnel is expected.
- Plant Liaison Plant process expert across all locations with the ability to proactively bridge manufacturing expertise with technical solutions. This often entails a strong focus on business process creation and improvement.
- Plant personnel liaison.
- Seen as a source of expertise to help solve real business problems.
- Regular plant visits, plant leadership team communication, IT resource alignment, etc.
- Liaise with Plant IT Managers frequently and other Plant personnel as required.
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field (Bachelors preferred)
- 3-5 years of experience with MES planning, executing, installation, integration testing and support
- 2 years of Automotive industry experience
- 2 years of Manufacturing experience
- Experience managing external software providers a plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills required
- Must be able to travel extensively when necessary
- Understanding of build to broadcast, ILVS, and batch helpful. GM broadcast experience preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL is a plus.
