Job Function –
Gains an understanding of banking operations and procedures by performing assigned projects and responsibilities throughout various banking departments including branch operations, loan administration, credit analysis, lending, human resources and marketing, as it fits into the schedule of the program.

Job Responsibilities –

Collaborates with immediate supervisor and/or program manager to create a personal job training schedule tailored to the intern’s education and aspirations.

Reviews training outline with the department manager of each rotation to ensure optimum training opportunities.

Engages in assigned training projects.

Prepares and presents written reports for department managers and training representative on each phase of training.

Participates in performance reviews of intern experience.

Ensures that own work and the financial institution comply with applicable regulations directly or through subordinates.

All other duties as assigned.

Education and Related Experience –
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current full-time college student
  • College degree in progress in related field with emphasis on banking OR satisfactory work experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Flexibility to work within a multi-discipline team
  • Highly organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Able to work 30-40 hours per week for the duration of the internship

Skills and Abilities –
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and management skills with the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Must possess good communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, required.
  • Must possess a professional, tactful, and flexible demeanor and can conduct duties with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills, using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Must be able to complete multiple simultaneous projects on time.
  • Must be able to create/maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Must possess good organizational and planning skills.
  • Must possess the ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to learn applications in use.
  • Must possess the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess working knowledge of MS Office
  • Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, scanner, printer and copy machine.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements –
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document.
  • Ability to travel if required to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship,” then the employee must be accommodated, hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
