Position Description
Under the direction of a lead attorney in Intellectual Property (IP), the Legal Assistant will be responsible for administrative and clerical support for Attorneys and Paralegals in the IP COE of Corning’s Law Department. Assist with daily IP administrative tasks including but not limited to: prepping/obtaining signatures for dec packs/POAs, ordering priority doc., generating forms for FF/NF, abandonment forms, inventor info updates, prepping/sending engagement letters, foreign doc requirements, prepping filing receipt corrections, and status inquiries. Additional tasks include meeting scheduling, trip scheduling and expense report generation and submission.
Education & Experience
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
- 4+ years of administrative, clerical experience.
Required Skills
- High sense of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- High proficiency in secretarial skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office 2010, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, copiers, and printers.
- Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities and detail-oriented work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written directions.
