What kind of training will I receive?
We spend many hours teaching you the essential skills you will need to succeed with Farmers Insurance. In addition, the award-winning University of Farmers provides access to thousands of self-paced online courses you may view at your leisure and web-based live instructor-led training courses.
Is prior insurance sales experience required?
No! You don’t need to know anything about insurance or insurance sales to apply. We provide all the product and sales training you’ll need to succeed!

What can I reasonably expect to make in the first year?
If you follow our sales process, at the very least you can expect to make $50,000 in your first year with your base salary, commission, and bonuses.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Insurance Sales Agent:
- Identify and qualify sales leads generated from a variety of sources
- Solicit, negotiate, and sell new personal lines and business insurance policies
- Establish and cultivate client relationships to develop a risk profile and match product solutions that protect families by reducing and/or eliminating identified risks.
- Achieve high sales goals by generating new business and cross-selling existing customers
- Educate prospective clients and existing customers on insurance solutions that address life changes
- Develop insurance quotes, make sales presentations, and close sales
- Process existing customer policy change requests
- Respond to customer policy and billing inquiries including explanation of coverages and rate changes to ensure complete understanding.
- Schedule and conduct regular Farmers Friendly Policy reviews with existing customers to ensure the customer’s changing needs are always matched with the appropriate product solution
- Network with current centers of influence and partners to deepen and strengthen referral relationships
- Serve as the claims concierge for existing customers to ensure a smooth and seamless experience from reporting an insured event through payment of benefits.
- Maintain a high level of personal energy and enthusiasm to support a positive agency culture and work environment with team members.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications for the Insurance Sales Agent:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and listening
- Proven track record of trustworthiness, dependability, and ethical behavior
- Must have strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
- Must be motivated and confident
- Must be coachable and eager to learn and succeed in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Arkansas Property and Casualty Producer license
- Arkansas Life Producer License
- Arkansas Accident and Health Producer License
Prior insurance or securities sales experience is preferred, but not required
