Summary of Job Duties:
The Department’s research and teaching interests include exposure to environmental stressors and environmental toxicology, climate change and its impacts on human health, nutrition, and regulatory science. The Department houses an Organ-on-Chip facility that allows faculty to conduct the cutting-edge biomedical and bioengineering research and is home to the Center for Dietary Supplements Research. Four other departments within the COPH and three affiliated centers provide ample opportunities for the development of fruitful collaborative efforts. UAMS also serves as a home for the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Professions, and Nursing as well as the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and a number of other experimental and clinical institutes that altogether offer unlimited prospects to conduct interdisciplinary basic, translational, and clinical research.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a master’s degree by the start date of the position. Preference will be given to those who have a degree in an environmental health-related discipline and demonstrated experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the research and educational missions of the Department, instruction to MPH students (lecturing and advising), and to the service missions of the College.
