Milestone Technologies is looking for an Installation and Support Technician to assist at one of our client sites. The I&S Technician's role will focus on four main areas of support: Office buildouts, technology retrofits, IDF maintenance, and general support services. This Installation and Support Technician role will require semi-frequent to frequent travel, often globally.
How You Will Make An Impact:- Validate AV standards are met at new offices
- Validate network configuration is working as designed
- Confirm wireless and wired network connectivity
- Perform basic intermediate distribution frame (IDF) audits
- Audit cable and wire equipment
- Audit to ensure label racks/IDFs are correctly labeled
- Perform IDF audit remediation as directed
- Test and troubleshoot basic copper and fiber links (Cat 5,6,SC/LC)
- Rack and stack power, network and AV/VC equipment
- Escort vendor or third parties as required at assigned location(s)
- Update commonly used support documentation
- Provide initial IT support assistance for onsite staff
- Additional adhoc network operations support, as required
- Maintain accurate inventory of peripherals and accessories
- Global travel ~ 50% of the time
- Experience with Ticketing and Asset Inventory System
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager and basic understanding of Cisco routers and switches
- Basic understanding of Cisco routers and switches
- Basic understanding of conference room AV support and testing basic functionality
- Physical lifting requires maximum of 50lbs
- For all jobs, it requires the individual to be mobile which will require an even amount of walking, sitting and standing
- Passport required
- Basic understanding of PC and MAC Operating Systems
- Excellent customer service skills including follow-up, verbal and written communication
- Good problem solving, diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate technical issues in non-technical terms
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
- Aptitude to learn new hardware & software quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree preferred
