HDR is looking for an Industrial Program Manager to join our team. This position may be based in either our Charlotte-NC or Pooler-GA office. This individual will lead our technical teams for diverse development and infrastructure projects. They may be responsible for management of programs supporting the design of facilities for a variety of markets including Industrial, Mining, Natural Gas, Power, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, and Federal. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with clients and multidiscipline design teams throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. Previous experience in industrial or large-scale residential site improvement/development (including grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is required.
- Work with clients to create Programs to assist with their development of large scale Industrial infrastructure
- Partner with Gas Utilities who have inherited significantly expanded capital budgets and demands to establish a Programmatic approach for groupings of projects
- Act as a project manager for large projects and programs for Industrial clients
- Direct multiple consultants and project teams
- Plan guidelines and performance specs for bidding
- Establish sequencing of project from financing to completion
- Oversee development, maintenance and delivery of technologies and services to clients
- Develop and apply processes and tools to ensure cost-effective application of technologies and services
- Identify emerging technologies needed to be competitive in the future
- Work closely with national, marketing and regional staff to identify needs to meet market drivers and/or create new markets
- Maximize the sector profitability
- Manage client activities to ensure client satisfaction, and promote branding of HDR to the industry and client community, and serve as the face of HDR to executive management, board members and project management staff of clients
- Serve as Project Manager or Principal-in-Charge for key/critical projects or programs, including managing technical staff and sub-consultant teams to meet project delivery needs and exceed client expectations
- Wors with HDR counterparts to develop strategies for: key hires, project pursuits, team growth, area growth and profitability, employee engagement and satisfaction
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or closely related field
- Minimum of 10 year’s project and/or program management-related experience within relevant industries
- PE License
- Excellent marketing, business development, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing staff, clients and contracts, as well as hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm
- Proven track record of success of winning and delivering services for multiple private sector clients
- Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams, regional, department, technical managers and project staff
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
- Integrated Delivery Project Experience (i.e. EPC, EPCM, DB, CMAR, etc.)
