Korean Women's Association is seeking an In Home Care Director for our Lakewood, WA office. This is an Full Time / Exempt position. Rate of pay is $94, 640 - $102,960 per year (DOE) with benefits. Apply online at www.kwacares.org under Careers.

  • Purpose of Position

Under the Executive Director (ED), lead a multi-cultural multi-lingual team of managers, supervisors, administrative assistants, and caregivers located in Western Washington KWA Home-Care offices. Responsible for overseeing policies, procedures, operations, strategic planning for growth, and ensuring quality of service and compliance with contract terms. This role is highly visible, and requires someone with exceptional people-management skills, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and business acumen.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage KWA's In-Home-Care (IHC) operation. Create strategy to empower staff, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, comply with regulations, standardize processes and procedures, and grow the department. Provide regular updates to ED and Board as requested.
  • Manage KWA Home-Care staff including functions of hiring, performance reviews, succession planning, training, and issue resolution. Collaborate with HR as appropriate.
  • Recommend, evaluate, develop and write policies and procedures related to client care practices, agency administration and agency fiscal operations.
  • Ensure compliance to state and federal grant terms on a regular basis. Build a standard system of measurement to monitor all care services provided to clients in accordance to the client's Plan of Care and Agency Policies and Procedures.
  • Oversee all preparations required for state monitoring as related to client and caregiver file documentation and any administrative requirements assigned, ensuring all locations are prepared and in compliance. Make changes that align with outside agency monitoring.
  • Schedule frequent in-person visits to all IHC offices across Washington State to build trust, establish relationships, solicit feedback and ensure proper training/orientation is occurring, and compliance to policies and procedures is happening.
  • Ensure Caregiver and client files are current and complete, assigned staff files are current and complete, and employee payroll data is completed accurately and timely with Finance Department.
  • Lead internal meetings with staff and supervisors, to include training and operational changes. Attend external meetings as appropriate, such as State Legislature meetings or IHC-related agencies, as assigned by the ED.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing & Communication to develop strategy to attract new care staff, increase visibility of KWA offerings, and share success stories from the field.
  • Develop and implement training materials for administrative staff and caregivers.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensure KWA Home-Care policies and procedures align with KWA Home-Care rules. Provide oversight on any recommended changes.
  • Prepare board reports to reflect key performance indicators and program initiative progress.
  • Lead regional and staff meetings to build and implement strategies to improve and expand the KWA Home-Care program.
  • Provide input and collaborate with HR and key stakeholders for all union matters. Participate in Collective Bargaining negotiations as required.
  • Oversee emergency response system regarding clients and KWA Home-Care workers.
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Position Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must pass criminal history and reference checks;

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, WORD, etc.;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire people in multiple locations; and
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and statistical data.
  • Educational Level

Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, healthcare, social work, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred.

3.2 Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership of people, processes, and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of an organization.
  • Experience in implementing process improvement or change initiatives.
  • Experience in social services or care facilities is a plus.
  • Software implementation and data management experience a plus.
